Kronos Doom is for old men. I really like this doom record. But I am not yet an old man. Not being old men themselves, Loviatar rejuvenated their doom with a healthy injection of post-metal, pulling the style forward into, well, at least the ‘90s. Favorite track: Silica.

MetalDipshit Crushing classic doom with soaring vocals. The tempo switch ups and clean leads steer this release clear of the doom doldrums many similar bands fall into.

Colin M. I loved their self titled, and "Lightless" continues the textured, emotive heavy doom sound. This is really, really good. Favorite track: Lightless.

gebs Lush, forlorn, and melodic. This album started me on a ravenous hunt for more doom metal records, and so far, they've all come up short. Favorite track: Horse in Thrall.

FDJ Loviatar deliver post-rock textures shaded with heavy doomic colouring and do it rather well. Favorite track: Horse in Thrall.

Kenstrosity Fantastic, evocative and crushing doom metal for those who wanted more from recent output from Pallbearer or Candlemass. The doom to beat in 2020. Favorite track: Silica.
